does the linkage feel light / sloppy as if it is not doing anything? it is usually one of the roll pins inside the alloy housing that has dropped out or it has cracked away. twist off the gear selector lever and take a look inside it the front pin (with luck) will be missing, if it is replace it with a new one or it will drop out again.Just rebuilt my engine , didn't touch the gear box. And now when I put it in reverse it drives forward.
Would it just be the linkage?????
And how do I solve it???
Cheers mark

The domed end is pointing up I think . I looked at the pic in the Haynes manual but I may have put it the wrong way as I was looking upwards at it.As above, which way up was the rod eye when you put the gear stick back in last night?

Cheers buddy . Starting get worried that I broke the gear box somehow and gonna have to strip it againYeah that'll be it, the eye should be at the bottom of the housing.
