Hi,

I want to remove my pedal box so I can swap it over for a Non servo one. I've hit a wall though as no matter what I try I can't get the damn security bolt things out holding it up on the dash rail

I've tried grinding the sides down to get my bolt gripping doo dah sockets, mole grips etc I'm thinking of using a cutting disc to put a slot in and try a screwdriver? Anyone know what thread/size the bolts are so I can get replacements?

Thanks

Personally i would grid / drill the heads off, remove the pieces, then wind out any remaining bolt thread with mole grips / fingers if its loose. I think they actually screw into a plate above the dash rail with captive nuts - once the sehar heads have been removed, this plate is then loose, take it outh te car to remove the remaining threads if you follow me...

:D

Replace with a suitable size standard hex bolt when refitting...

You could always just leave the pedal box in the car and swap over the pedal and spring.

i normally get things moving with a hammer and chisel, once it starts to turn, you can get the mole grips on it and undo it

if you can get in with hammer and a sharp chisel/dot punch, it should undo easy enough. these type off bolts just need pinching up before the bolt head snaps off normaly.
