Hi Guys,

I tried searching but could'nt find quick answer, but I know this will have been discussed loads before. TMy little mini has developed a massive oil leak from the driveshaft (Drivers side), I have ordered up the replacement seal and new oil filter (may as well as oil must be dropped anyway). My question is, is there anything special about replacing the seal - once all the running gear is removed and the pot has been "popped" off the box?

Should it just be a case of fishing out the old oil seal and push new one in?

Many Thanks

Chris W

Nothing tricky to it but you might find it doesn't fix the leak. The seals themselves tend to be blamed for what is more often wear in the bushing in the side plate. If the pot joint can slop about a lot because the bushing is worn the seal has no hope of staying oil tight. It might well fix it, but don't be surprised if it starts weeping again soon after.
