We've seen that insurance companies have a habit of going on autopilot with claims.

Autopilot is a good decription.

Runners Repeaters and Strangers.

Runners = High Volume, Follow the process, claims that can be dealt with in minutes.
Repeaters = Not so High Volume, but they see enough of them to deal with them in minutes.
Strangers = What ? You don't agree with us, how weird.

It makes you wonder how different people can see the same thing in different ways - to me, my car is fantastic because it's over 30 years old & more or less completely original (apart from a few nice chrome bits!) but to some it's just an 'old car' not worth saving!
To be honest they'd have had to take me for salvage too before I'd have let them take my car - lol!
Still waiting for written confirmation from insurance that they've authorised repairs so will be able to relax properly once I have that.
Just can't wait to get him back on the road now!
>_<
