Please give your topic a title that quickly describes your problem. Just putting 'Help my Mini doesn't work' is useless to anyone trying to help.

You need to type your problem with a description in the big white box.

Not the title bar.

You can if you want to seam weld the sills but spot welding them or plug welding at approx 1" apart is fine. i seam weld at each end where the sill attaches to the rear heelboard and the front inner wing lip.

I tend to seam weld them, its easier and quicker!!

I also feel a little bit safer knowing that they've been seamed as well.

Its not original but to be honest I usually don't care!!

I checked this just to be sure today and the nasty
Mot man says " it's a replacement part
Not a original one and it was seam welded
When it started out in life so needs to be seam welded
Again" so if this is then case am I right in thinking as I cut a
Rotten panel out It should be seam welded it it was to start
But things like A panels and wings can be re tacked back on

Only if you replace like for like can the panel be attached using the same method the original was attached...

If you use wide sills or oversills, they MUST be seam welded.

there is a place for seam welding and a place for spot of plug welding, orginal sills should be spot welded, it has more strength than seam welding in this case, the rule is orginal panel lines spot/plug weld. repair seam weld. butin all cases of welding good penitration is important.
