Those things on the corners of the sills/ floor pans are not jacking points, and if used as such, will push the floors up. It is a good idea to remove them as they are a rust trap, and useless fo anything other than what they were originally intended for. Tell any garage you take the car to for work, to use the sub frame to jack the car, otherwise they will just push the floors up. I am tired of having to hammer the floors out again after the last dyno operator never listened to me.
Edit, just realised you mean the central jacking point, sorry
sorry for hi-jacking this thread but what were they originally intended for and where is the central jacking point? im confused

The rectangular plates under the end of each sill are called slinging shoes. They are also backed up by some reinforcing inside the sill but are nowhere near as strong. These are not jacking points, even though Haynes lists them as such. They are solely intended for transporting finished, bare shells to the paint plant, to the storage warehouse in a pallet and then to the start of the production line. They can't bear the weight of a built car and collapse if you try to lift on them.
