I'm seeing if I can get a dizzy to suit my 286 cam as my standard metro one doesn't have enough curve for the cam. Either Aldon red or similar

Get one re-curved, imo aldons are expensive, for what you get. But for the price of it all, a megajolt is about £100, plus doner bits and trigger wheel, probably can be done for the price of a aldon dissy if you penny pinch

Yeah but aldons are only £130 . Just seen some brand new ones on eBay for £80 with a coil and it's says it for fast/road engines or they even do a race one, would these be any good or just crap. ( it's a shop called Simons BBC ) they look ok.

Those dizzys you mentioned on ebay will work, just not suited best.
My megajolt system costed me £202 all in, and that will work on any 4 cylinder engine. It's worth considering as you can fine tune it to your engine excactly.
