hi im not a paint sprayer but have resprayed 7 cars to a high long lasting standard using pint from jawel. i have used their 2 pack in a spray booth with air fed mask and had great results with their cellulose. from what i have been told from many proff sprayers is that synthetic paints are not the best to use and that celly is far better for the novice as it is easy to rectify mistakes. which ever you choose take your time be safe and do as much research as you can before starting. good prep is the key to a good paint finish. good look

Hi
I recently repainted my 83 Mayfair in my garage with a standard halfords compressor and spray gun running 40 or 80 PSI.
I used paint from company called Auto air
website below
http://www.thecustom...h...ory&path=42

Very cheap paint. I painted mine Flame red and with base coats cost £65 for paint. Good coverage and depends how many coats you want to put on.
There is a variety of colours all are water based so no damage to atmosphere very quick drying.
If you visit the website you will see all the colours as well as the finishes they give and lots of demos of them applying it.
The down side is lacquer- Auto Air didnt do a lacquer when I painted mine.
Prob i found with some lacquers is very toxic to apply i.e not in own garage so some investigation of lacquering will be needed.

Very pleased with result of my paint job as had never used spary gun before and was very easy to correct any mistakes.

Hope this helps

Simon

find your local paint supplier, they will usually have a range of guns you can see & handle rather than buying from a pic on the net.
HVLP is the way to go -less overspray. gravity fed guns offer less waste but are a pain to "hang up" at a moments notice, so make sure you have a suitable nail in the wall before you start painting!. the mobile will always go off in the middle of painting a roof for instance.
synthetic is /used to be for commercial vehicles
celly isnt what it used to be, but is easy to use
2pack shouldnt be on sale, but is widely available, less forgiving than celly but gives a better shine out of the gun, & if you or anyone around where you plan to spray is asthmatic, it could cause problems.
water based still uses a chemical activator, so its not as harmless as people make out & you ideally need to control the climate when painting with it.
