Hi all, I'm sure somebody can answer this for me.
My hornet goes for mot on monday and one of the things I had to get was a proper fuel filler cap. I went to my local auto salvage place (scrap yards don't exist any more really do they) and managed to get a nice chrome locking one with an extra collar that clamps onto the filler neck (£3). But I think that I need to have a vented tank? I've read on here somewhere about needing a vented cap? Think bluemini fixed a problem for someone? so if I need to make it vented is it as simple as drilling a small hole in the filler neck or cap, or removing some of the seal?

Doesnt your tank have a breather at the top?? Is the tank in the same place as a normal mini, if so reach up to the top of it from inside the boot and follow the seam with your fingers and you'll find a nubbin sticking out that you put a bit of fish tank hose on and poke it thru a hole in the floor by the main fuel pipe, this is your breather.
If its the same as the van/estate/pick-up tank, then I'm not sure...

if theres no hole then it will create a vacume and ont b able to suck any fuel through, though the filler caps arnt always air tight

Elf's/hornets use a standard Mini fuel tank, which will be vented.
