Hey,
I am 16 years old and i'm looking for a cheap, incomplete (preferably 'near to completion') Mini, which i can work on as a project in the meantime whilst a havent got my licence.
I'm very into cars, and have all the tools for the project i'm hoping to start. Money is really the only issue, being 16, I don't have a great deal of cash, although i've been looking around for jobs, i'm trying to balance education with income :S I'd be looking at £300 max for the car.
I would be extremely grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction, or even more, if you could supply me with what i'm looking for.
Regards,

First Car Advise Please :)

don't take this the wrong way,
but you really are going to struggle to get a mini near completion for £300, it just isn't going to happen unless you are very lucky, and drop on one that is owned by someone, usually old who doesn't know the value.
My advice, don't buy the first thing unless its incredible value, keep your eyes on ebay (be careful, look in person before bidding) and look around the side of roads, in peoples gardens etc. Be cheeky, if you see a mini in someones garden that doesn't seem to be taxed or used, ask em (politely of course) if they would like to sell it.
Maybe look at motor auctions but be very careful, some dodgy types are very good at bodging cars to get them to drive at the auction but it'll fall to bits when u drive home.
Best thing is not to give up hope, and try and get a bigger budget, for something standard (you're best to stick with 998 late sort of 80s early 90s city or sprite for price) you'd get something, probably decent around a grand.
Probably speak for most people here
Good luck mate, and don't lose faith, we are all after that cheap mint mini

No chance mate for £300. Not a chance in the world.
Try closer to £1000 for one thats roadworthy and near completion.

As others have said, one in a million that you'll find a decent mini for £300 - but there are other options, you may be lucky enough to get a decent shell for around £300-500 but only a shell. Or you could quite easily get one that needs a full strip down, all the usual welding and rebuild for £300.
Good luck
