its not the mounts its the panel which the mounts are mounted to

Sounds from the description like some serious fatigue damage to the floorpan or bulkhead. There's no real way you can take a short cut here. You're going to have to get this welded up properly or the car will remain very unsafe, as it is now.
Unless I've misunderstood what you're saying.
If the steel is cracked and torn around the subframe mountings and the panels flex badly when you blip the throttle, don't drive the car.

thats a common problem im affraid ,
years ago this always happened , not due to excessive corrosion but stress cracks of the metal....
when driving you will hear the bulkhead clicking & cracking , these are the cracks rubbing together.
this is quite easy to repair if you can weld , it involves removing the bulkhead subby mountings & then welding a thick large plate ( 1 or 2 mm) over the area..
drill out the holes again with a 8mm dill then best bet is to fit new mountings...
check the tear drop mounts too as this can cause the cracks to happen...
