I am nearly through the restoration of what I believe to be a 1976 registered Mini Moke. There are however many questions in my head as to the true identity of the vehicle. It has a post 1990 Cooper engine, early Cooper discs and calipers, and a fuel tank that I am told comes from a Portuguese Moke. The Chassis number which is stamped on a plate (newish) states that it is an Austin Mini Moke, weighs 934kg and has the number 348 PE 1719 R 131. This number is also stamped using a pointed punch on the bulkhead crossmember, and stamped numerically on the same.
Any ideas?

No, this is definitely not a Mini Moke. The VIN number is also not from a Moke despite what the (homemade?) plate says.
