Hi all

My subframe has a bit of surface rust on it so I was looking to tidy iy up a bit and protect it. Just wondering what the best thing to do is?

I was thinking of rubbing it down (heavy sandpaper\wire brush) and covering it with some normal underseal followed by a final layer of underseal with added waxoyl. I also have some rust remover and some normal waxoyl only so don't really know what offers the best protection?

Any ideas welcome including different products.

Thanks
Andy.

Any idea which one I am after? Is it stage 3 or do you use a variety of products? How much will i need?

Andy

That stuff is great, and as said will stop the rust for ages. However I find that if you clean the subframe of all the rust and then treat it to a couple of coats of hamerite. It works quite well. I dont suppose there is any permanent cure to rusting rear subframes though.
