this has a floor switch for the main beam and although it does work I have to get my foot in a really odd angle to operate it, is there a new switch available or should I just move it to a dash switch?? if so is it easy to get to the back of it!!

thanks

From memory, the floor switch is only held on with two self tapping screws. You may find there is enough additional wire to move the dimmer switch where you want it to be... and leave it on the floor. Just don't forget to plug the old holes.

I'm sure you could find any number of switches to "move" the dimmer function where you want it to be. You may want to check to see if there are any regulations that apply before you attempt this though.

Were this me and I wanted to move to a dash or steering column arrangement for the dimmer I would combine this change with adding a set of headlight relays. (Use the search function here... there have been quite a few threads about this. Including some recent threads). With the addition of a set of headlight relays you could use a very simple single pole, double throw switch to select between high and low beams. The current switching would be handled by the relays so the selector switch could be quite small.

Hi Sarah,

Your floor mounted dip switch is still available through MiniSpares, part number RTC432A.....for £18.00!

Cheers,

Steve.
