Anyone know the weight of just the bodyshell? I don't want to overload the trolley I laid my hands on by 4 times!

Ta!

It's nowhere near that! When mine was delivered 4 of us easily lifted it off a flatbed transit and carried it up the drive and into my garage, and then the three of them held it up while I set four stands under it. I doubt they could have held half a ton! I would expect it to be around 150 - 200 Kg.

But then I could be wrong as well and maybe my gf and the paintshop saturday boy are freakishly strong.

Phone Heritage and ask them how much it weighs, they make it and they have to ship it so they must know.

This link may help you guesstimate. I'd say about 250kg, add another 75kg to that at least for a 1992+ shell.

The trolleys rated at 300kg, so I think it'll be close enough! Thanks guys.

Jammy, why would a 1992 shell weigh more?

letr this put things more in perspective for you..... when I had to move my mini around in bare shell form...(no doors, etc.) it was just me and my dad carrying/lifting and if you haven't seen pics of me I'm not very large.

so I thing it's way less than the original estimate in this post...(keep in mind that a complete mini weighs around 1300 lbs. so I would imagine a shell would be somewhere in the region of 350lbs? only a guess though.)

I'll try and look it up for you.

Al

I included a pic of me and my dad rolling it down my driveway when I was taking it to work to paint it.... me and my dad lifted it into the horse trailer.... about 2.5 feet off the ground.

Jammy, why would a 1992 shell weigh more?

Isn't that when they added side impact bars?

even if it was weren't the impact bars only in the doors? when he says shell i assume it's completely bare like mine was above. :gimme:

it is bare yes, and I have a few bits in it to save garage space (bits of carpet, plastic arches to name a couple). I want to be able to wheel it in and out of the garage to get a bit more room to work (I don't have the luxury of a 2 car garage.)

That was '96 but 75 Kg for two side impact bars?

My god man! :saywhat: 75 Kg is about 11 stone, what do you think they're made of! They're only 1 inch steel tube!

OK ok, give or take a couple of kgs. Didn't they change to double glazing in '96 as well? :fear:
