Spec- 998, 12g940 ported ou, megajolt, 276 cam
i have a set of twins HS2s that still need some work doing on them to be useable (throttle spindles need a rebush), however I know someone selling a hiff 44 with ITG filter and stub stack
will the Hiff44 give as good performance as the twins?Im attracted to the hiff44 as its easier to set up than twins, no faffing with balancing or wotnot

im running a 44 on my 998 and it seems to run very well indeed! obviously there is ALOT of induction noise... but i do like that:P
given you do go for a 12g940 head i say a 44 would be fine with the right needle...

yeah, I have the 12g940 all ready to fit, I ported it out myself and removed alot of material from around the valve guides, its opened up quite nicely

I'm using a hif44 on my fast road 998. It works well, currently has a BDL needle fitted
That's the MG Metro needle and carburettor.
Must be a seriously tweaked 998 to require the carb from an MG Metro!

If I were you I would fit a 38 with the proper needle or fit the twins. Twins are not that tough to set up, and contrary to popular belief...you don't have to keep tinkering with them.
Better low down power as well./

BDL is normally what is used with stage one kits. It's currently at 65bhp just the sw5 cam letting it down now
