hi guys was wondering if you could tell em how you fitted you speakers in your dash ? , if you had any pictures e.t.c as i have brought some alpine sxe-1025s and they are 4" but the vent holes are 3.5" so was going mount them to the back of the dash, as the actual cone does not foul on the holes , when there in poistion , but then i cannot gain acess to my fasteners to the right side of my dash  so i am sort of stuck :S and didnt really want to cut the holes if i could help it also does anybody no of and comes for 4" speakers as mine didnt come with any and want to have a cover on them if i can

thanks in advance
ollie

I fitted mine from the front, just took 10 mins to hacksaw a small amount from the holes. My dash is for an MPI Cooper. Not to much fuss just used a small saw................ :)

You simply screw the speakers to the back of the dash, the screws go straight in the the woods.

Be careful to use screws the right length though, as if they are to long you will crack the veneer.

Then mount the grill to the other side (the face ) of the dash like this:

a couple of extra points.

Be carefull the speaker movement is not impaired by being mounted face on the wood, if necessary make a MDF collar to mount the speaker back from the wood a little.

Block the Air vent inlet behind the dash thats not used now, otherwise you will get cold air pushed out from under the dash. Plus the cold air contains moisture which over time wont be good for the speakers.

You can fit the dash by reaching under the lower dash rail to tighten the wing nuts..

mine are hidden behind the origional vents...
