What solutions have people come up with to move a bare shell around? By around I mean on and off trailers and around a workshop.

At the moment I'm thinking of a heavy duty pallet with four castors.

We just pick them up and carry them around although that might not work unless you've got at least one person to help you.

As Col said a pallet with casters is probably the best diy option.

Various ways from a pallet and a pallet truck, to a frame made from angle iron and 4 castors welded to it... Even have a payless diy ( for those who remember Payless ) trolley which has been used.

I have my pallets. I'm going to put a couple together and then attach four castors just like the above picture.
Andy have you tried getting it on a trailer with those castors? What diameter are they?

Thanks

My mate made me a beam axle to bolt up to the tower bolt holes with a tube running to the back of the car with suitable mounts to the floor and out the back so a tow hitch could be fitted.
Makes life easy to move about and can be towed to the bodyshop with a trailer board fitted!!! So its basically a rear facing mini trailer lol

Hi Craig.
Nope it wont go up the ramps of a trailer because the castors ive fitted are a bit small. I would advise you to get the biggest castors you can find and preferably the soft rubber wheeled type. The small cheepo polycacbonate ones like ive used are fine for trundling around the drive. But Iwill deffo be getting the bigger ones for next time.
