So after Bringing the car home the other day, decided to bring the suspension down [was set at highest for transport]
the thing is the front sits very high even with the hi-los at the lowest point.
I have mini spares red dot cones installed, as per mini spares "if using these on 10" wheels with Hilos cut 3/4" off the end of the centre threaded bolt of the old type Hilo with a circlip as it will bottom out on the cone spring face and the car will sit high, for extremely lowered cars the hilo face will also need machining a few mm"

This is not my case as I'm running 13's
Also was told that if I have the wrong knuckle joint fitted (post 1990 with spacer) the suspension will sit high.
I'm aware that they haven't been broken in yet and the pro-motive front end is lighter but as you'll see from the pictures when comparing to the rear it just makes no sense for it to sit this high (even with the car stripped)

Anyone had this issue, help would be greatly appreciated

Apologies for you being sleepy...

Question is REASONS WHY FRONT RIDE HEIGHT IS SOO HIGH AT LOWEST SETTING

Best Regards,

Thanks I will !

Just tought it was still relevant to keep it in this section since the pro-motive kit makes the front end lighter and this could maybe be part of the problem.

I will try my luck in the Questions and Technical ' section

How long have the cones been fitted?

They can take a few weeks to settle down. I recently put 4 new ones on my mini and because its only used every now and again it took about 6-8 weeks to settle.

They have just been fitted and car was not driven yet, I know they need to settle down but I have at least a 5 1/2 inch gap from the tire to the flare.

Really sorry mate!
I do have a project in this section, it's Canadian pro-motive, my question is regarding my current pro-motive project just didn't know if I was supposed to post it on my project page or start a new topic (kind of new to this, and Obviously Oblivious)

My sincerest apologies, I will remove my post!!!

I think they just need to settle. Here's a pic of mine. It has red dot cones and hilos. This was after about 150 miles.

The cones definitely need time to settle, I think Rover advised a 3 month settling time for them.

It's also worth saying that the front suspension has a lower compression ratio to the rear so even with the same cones and Hi Los sets the same there will be a difference in height.
