The last section is the serial number of the engine, it doesn't refer to anything in the build. It is however part of your car's identity and a number you should not really broadcast. I've deleted it from your post.

Bit over top on security there Dan?

Its good to have deleted it as if the number is then cloned or put on someone elses log book, then you are in a bit of a mess comes MOTs etc. My clubby estate has had a clubby saloon 1098 put in it at some point, but not on the log book !

Errr why? engine size has no impact on the MOT test. It is 1 998 to another 998, how many engines have been swapped and the engine code plate is missing? or a MED engine with their own codes fitted, have the log books been updated? Its not really a cloning issue unless you get something worth cloning, say a 970 or cooper s engine
If the codes i have are correct, yes it has been replaced because it was originally fitted in a metro

No. If someone wants to clone a car (and you have no idea if they would clone this car or not, all kinds of normal cars get cloned for all sorts of reasons) they now have the engine number. It won't be hard to search the OPs posts and find a photo of the car with it's reg. Wait long enough and if the admin and mods don't remove this kind of info then eventually the OP might also post the VIN and you have a full set. If you don't think there are bots released into the internet by spam companies to do this kind of thing you are kidding yourself. it won't fail an MOT on engine size, but if they check your code agaisnt your log book, and it comes up on the system there is another mini with the 'same' engine code you are in a mess
