When looking at car photos taken professionally, you notice a lot of photographers incorporate women (usually models) into the shots, and have been doing so for years. When i look at photos of the classic Mini, i don't see any of this.

Is the classic Mini scene just culturally different to other car scenes? Has it got something to do with the mindset of Mini enthusiasts, or it is just coincidence that it doesn't happen?

I dont see alot of it in the VW "scene" either, well not in the older stuff, it might have something to do with the fact they are old cars, or just a coincidence

You obviously didn't see the 'classic mini with trailers' thread. That had women in few clothes with minis. . I'll now try and find it

I think the main reason girls/woman aint used in Mini shoots is purly down to it being a 'family' scene. Mini enthusiasts can be anyone from a 14 year old boy to a 24 year old woman right up to a 60+ year old man. There simply no place or need to have woman in bikinis etc laying across a mini in a magazine shoot.

Leave that to the other car scenes. Not to say the pictures posted aint great because they are but I'm glad I'm not picking up a copy of miniworld with a girl on the front page.

Having done quite a few photo shoots, I have never been asked to include a mini by a client. Some other more 'sporty' models yes. As Chunkomunko says above, it's perceived image by the client and who they want to see the photo's (their intended audience). Although I'm sure that they have been done, they've probably been for private shoots - 'here mate take a shot of me girl and me car will ya'.

Although if anyone wants shots of their car and partner I'll be happy to oblige!

Interesting point. There are other classic car scenes that incorporate models (the American muscle scene springs to mind)...

Maybe i should alter the question. Maybe Mini photoshoots should have people (male and female models) interacting with the car?

when i look at pics of cars (any cars) i dont wont to see some person on/near the car it ruins the pic i look at pics of cars for the cars nothing else, this goes for mags, i used to get fast car when i was i my teens my dad found them gave me a telling off for having mags with pics of nudey ladies in them. and then i pointed out that i dont look at mags for the women i like cars, and while yes women are very nice too look at i dont wont to see them spralled on a car meaning i cant see the whole car!!!!!!
