I am hearing a creaking sound form th left side rear suspension.

The sound has been there a while. I thought it may have been the rear dampener bottoming out as i had the lowered Th car. SO replaced with gaz adjustable and the problem persisted.

Next I thought it could be the non genuine hilo - i thought the thread was protruding the hilo and fouling the middle of Th rubber cone. I raised the car toady and the noise is still there.

I also softened up the dampeners but the noise is still there.

Radius arm has been greased and yip you guessed it still noisy.

it only seems to happen at low speed. on a sharp corner or the moment i accelerate away from a stop. If you rock the car it also makes Th noise.

any ideas?

I could be wrong but I think they often do that when the plastic cups on the radius arms have worn out. Where the cone ball end meets the radius arm. I'm a bit of a newbie but I remember hearing something like that. That though would only be when the radius arms move up and down, I assume. Cheers, jack

Any other ideas,

Or can anyone confirm or negate the suggestions above!

Cheers

Hi,

Did you ever resolve this issue? My Mini has been doing a similar thing for a while now and is really starting to get on my nerves as the noise is almost constant (I only drive it occasionally tho, so not bothered to investigate the noise before now). As it's from the near side I wondered if it could be the fuel tank brackets making the noise or something like that?

Cheers,
Steve

Yes resolved, Turned out the radius arm pin was slightly siezed, and not allowing the arm to drop as fully and as smoothly as it should. Hence the creak.

Pin replaced and problem solved!
