Just taken out insurance with footman james and they have sent a vehicle condition form for the agreed valuation, doe's anyone know of someone near Salisbury who could fill it out for me.It says it has to be a car club official, restorer, valuer,or specialist dealer and what sort of charge will they make.

Is your car particularly valuable? When I got my condition form from Footman James I was able to complete it myself as the value was lower than their limit (£3k if I remember rightly).

Most classic Mini specialists are likely to be considered restorers or specialist dealers by FJ.

They accepted mime, when I filled it in myself.

If not the British Mini Club will do it for a fee.

It's worth joining for the discont on the insurance, the the fiver off the valuation if you need it.

I filled mine in a couple of weeks back and from what I recall you need an independent vaulation from a speciaist/restorer etc if the vehicle is either partcularly valuable or under 20 years old, otherwise you can complete it yourself.

In terms of getting your valuation done, there is a TMF Trader on here who has offered to do them in the past, if you post him ten photos and the valuation form. It might be worth a PM to see if he might help you out??

There's a Mini club in Winchester I believe, or you could join Basingstoke Mini Club and pop along to a meet. ;D

i think they told me if it was under £15k then you could fill it in yourself, it was 2 years ago though so that might not be the right figure!
