Hi all,

decided to mke my own boot panel, see project, as the new piece is quite small. I rough cut it but the hinge panel lip slopes down the oposite way to the boot floor, if you know what I mean!! In the pics I took I have clamped the panel to the hinge lip as should be the case for plug welding. The metal needs to bend down to meet the rest of the boot floor, is this correct and all I need to do is put a kink in ??

Can you advise please?

Just press it down with the butt of a hammer and tack it to the existing boot floor every 2". Once it's in place you can stitch it up between the tacks and you're done.

Hi,

thought of that but when I push it down the hinge panel flange just bends up and I am worried about deforming the boot shape??

I highly doubt you'll run into any issues with the boot aperture deforming. Remember the hinges can move to accommodate for the change in the vertical mounting face.
