went to the classic show today at weston park, and right next to where we parked was the dereks mini limo, i was just wondering if any of you guys on here have had a good look at it?

i have seen their other stuff and was very impressed wit hit, infact my sister in law has a mini which she bought from them about 15 years back, and as a testament to them still looks like new.

but that limo i was pretty un impressed with, door gaps, folding pram roof, not the best job i have seen.

opinions?

i didnt have my camera with me, only my phone and it doesnt realy do it justice.

my work mate was going to book it for his wedding but has heard stuff about them not showing up on the big day, which isnt cool!

my other point which i forgot to mention earlier was, when i asked if it was 2 minis welded together, i was met with silence before being told "its built on its own special chassis" i certainly couldlnt see it and i looked all over it, saw plenty bracing and extra inner sills though to be fair

this is the mini me and my wife booked for our wedding

after paying our money up front and leaving him all of our contact details and address, this joker left us at the church with no transport and wouldn't answer our calls

it's only the fact my brother in law lives near him that we managed to get our money back

if you have a big day coming up i would stear clear of Derek and his limo

Hi cradley-heathen, i have been asked to reply to your opinion of dereks mini limo, this limo is the most popular wedding mini limo that you will find, and he has a catalogue of thank you letters and recommendations to prove the fact spanning 20yrs in the buisness, the limo has in this time only required a respray to freshen it up and the interior refurbed due to wear and tear of doing 2-3 weddings a month and still is by the way, as for the door gaps hinges do wear and at sometime in their life will need to be either adjusted or replaced, and if i was getting married the last thing on my mind would be the door gaps on the car :shifty: ,
as for you getting a momets silence after your questions about the construction of the car derek has been in the buisness of restoring minis for 30+yrs and
would you tell all and sudry your trade secrets so they could copy them and use them to attempt to take trade from you, i dont think so,
now for the folding pram roof , as i said earlier this car has been a workhorse for approx 20yrs and the roof was proffesionall custom made at that time,
and i think i read somewhere that a company british leyland / rover used this type of roof construction quite sucessfully :genius:
and as you stated yourself that your sister in laws mini is testament to his workmanship, on reflection and taking these comments into consideration dont you think that you are being a tad unfair to an honest buisnessman trying to make an honest living.

Best Regards Peter

Hi you are obviously not a very understanding person and insist on speading this garbage, derek gave you the unavoidable reasons for not being unable to attend your wedding which was held at a time when the whole of the country was experiencing severe flooding and gale force winds, derek was in fact 1/2 way to you with the rain lashing down and gale force winds when the roof was ripped from the limo and the roof and all his paperwork was blown away across the open fields along side of the motorway and was unable to recover it, and as so was unable to contact you as they contained your contact number.
derek is not in the buisness of letting people down and as a matter of fact you are the only person he has ever let down, and would not have done it on your day had it not been unavoidable, he has a catalogue of thank you letters from satisfied customers spanning 20yrs in the buisness.
But then you know all this as he has told more than once, so come on fella accept that this was not deliberate, just an unfortunate series of circumstances,
and move on if you dont want to grow up a bitter and twisted oldman :shifty:

oh and by the way you had a full refund of your money within 5 days of the event, which by the way, whatever he may have told you was nothing to do with your brother in law.

Regards Peter

I was thinking the same, any respectable company keeps more than one set of contact details so if anything does happen they can do something about it

So your telling me if you were not going to be able to turn up to collect someone for their wedding day and not even be able to contact them you wouldnt send someone down to the garage straight away to get their contact number? Because if thats the way the company works thats just rediculouse!!!!

A friend of his no actually, I doubt Bungle even knows who I am. I'm just vouching for the fact that I have never seen him make up absolute nonsense.

And I do think the reasons are a little bit coincidental, i was expecting to hear something about alien abduction aswell, i have heard about bad days happening but that is a little bit unreal.
