Hi mini fellas
I am in New Zealand and looking to purchase a Group A metro turbo head gasket. It is the one requiring the block to be machined for O Rings. I have tried some mini part supply centers with no luck despite advertising them. Does anyone know where you can get access to this part and are able to supply. If so please advise me

Reason for it is the 'Snot Gobbler' has been run in and due for a bit more grunt, i pulled the LCB manifold off and noticed oil in center exhaust port, suspect a faulty valve seal or guide - (any further insight will be appreciated) .. any how head has to come off but i can get a replacement gasket

..and here are pics if you wonder what a snot gobbler is

Many thanks if you can help

The standard BK450 head gasket is more than up to the task of anything you can throw at it power wise. The Group A head gasket is not worth the extra hassle, considering its initial cost, the additional non standard machining on the block and the limited +0.020" overbore. That is unless you already have the block machined to take this and you need a replacement.

If you are looking for an upgrade to the already robust BK450 head gasket, look at the Commetic laminated steel head gaskets :P

Thanks for advise
i have sent Ferridays an email .... has one been made before ?
I recived the car with head gasket in it about 5 years after it was assembled but had only been run up to temp twice.
It was built to run at about 110 HP with a plan to blow a 20 -30 hp NOS shot into its pipes.
The engine has run well so far but (i am thinking) because it sat for a while the valve seal may not have sealed well and the head bypass pipe insert has corroded badly to a sliver and on the verge of leaking.
Is may be possible to build a gasket to suit, i have a local (new zealand) guy checking it out but original parts are my first choice.

I have to agree with sprocket. There's minis with over 200bhp that are fine with the bk450, I'm going to be using one with similar power to you.
Better off spending the money elsewhere
