I was doing an internet search the other day and came across one of these.

Has anyone fitted one of these using a standard pedal box? As the tabs that bolt to the dash-rail appear to be wider wouldn't it foul where the pedal box meets the dash-rail or am I just being thick?

Cheers,
Pete

That's a good find, even at £20 its got to be better than spending hours beating metal :P

I cant see why it would not fit with the standard pedal box.

I think you are right. I may well get one anyway. On my set-up. the existing top bracket has one of its fixing tabs sitting between the two legs of where the pedal box comes forward to meet the dash rail, if that makes sense. As the extended bracket has wider tabs, it wouldn't fit in-between the pedal box arms. Mind you I imagine it could be sorted with a bit of modification. The pedal box arms don't appear to be fixed to the dash rail. They just seem to be resting against it. Does that sound right? I really need to look at a standard set-up.

Cheers
Pete

Answering my own question...

But ease the dash rail up just enough and the extended drop bracket will then fit under the dash rail with the pedal box arms under the drop bracket fixing tab. Sorted.

Would this set up need a bigger, better, stronger & wider spreader plate on the topside of the dash rail ??

Might be advantageous.

I have a stainless steel version of one of these which were the original produced ones. Im actually going to mount mine further back onto me roll cage :shifty:
You can see a picture of it in my build diary : http://www.theminifo...howtopic=174924
