Description of problem:
Hey, got a hole on the top of the backbox about 1/4" square, as a temporary fix, if i rivet a plate over this and it seals effectively so it doesnt blow will it pass an MOT?
Or does it depend on how good a day the tester is having

If it dosent blow then it should pass. If the repair is not visible without removing the box then it will pass as the tester will never see the repair.

Should be ok, welding the plate on would be better for a seal but your method would probably work
