Unfortunately i have to sell my beloved mini. It has recently had a strip down and re-build of the engine. It has a Nikki twin choke carb and a fletcher LCB manifold into a stainless steel 3 inch side exit exhaust. The car comes with an MOT and 6 months tax. The MOT runs out in February 2012 and tax 31st september. The car had no advisories.
The reason i am selling is that ill be driving back and fore to Uni (cardiff) from Bridgend and would like something more up to the milage.

Good points:
Full MOT 4 new falkon tyres with less than 50 miles on them
new stainless exhaust
nikki twin choke carb
New chrome front grill
clear front indicators with silver bulbs
nice black vinyl interior
new 75 amp alternator (essential if you want a stereo etc
Hi-Lo adjustable hight suspension
new distributor cap, points, condenser, HT leads, coil and spark plugs.

I will also throw in: dashboard template and centre console template (cover with material of your choice)
crystal angel eye headlights (angel eye) with H4 bulbs (all unused and boxed)
aftermarket rev counter with shift light (unused)
i also have an alcantara gear gaiter from a new JCW mini that i was going to use (i had it for £35) slightly used Haynes Mini manual and if you meet the asking price i will also throw in an Alpine iDA-X001 blutooth head unit which has a USB slot for iPod/iPhone and blutooth for a phone or iPhone for music (with box, leads and fixing bracket)

Ok so now for the dreaded bad points: First off the car won't start, it did work after the rebuild and worked well. However it developed a misfire and i believe a valve is sticking in one of the cylinders (build up of smoke) or a push rod has slipped off a cam follower, shouldn't be too hard to fix but it is beyond me as im useless. Paint is not fantastic to be quite honest, could to with a paint job. Bumpers are the cheap black ones (would look better with stainless ones) wheels have been crudely painted white with hammerite (look ok after a wash but the guys doing the tyres weren't careful with my paint. No carpet in the front of the car (never bothered me too much. Small patch of rust in the drivers footwell (wasn't picked up in MOT but nothing serious) Passanger front window strip could do with changing as the water runs down and out the bottom of the door. Tyre on spare wheel is really bad, forgot to get it changed with the others. If you want to view or ask questions you can call or email

The price. It was advertised on pistonheads for £2k... reduced to £1800 and have had replies but from people who did not read my ad. So i am asking £1800 or nearest offer, will consider p/x for a cheap reasonably modern car as a run around for uni.

£1800 for a car that needs to be towed away?
I'd say you're looking at about £1100 for this car if that.

Thanks for your input on my for sale thread, it has been very helpful, a lot of money has been spent on this car as it is and i am just trying to get some of it back, there isn't a great deal wrong with it, in fact myself and a friend got it started, although it was misfiring.... I will assume that you weren't making an offer of £1100 despite posting on a for sale thread not a "please could someone advise me on what my car is worth" thread.

Please note O.N.O in title, i'm not expecting the full amount.

Thanks for your input.

misfire could be to do with the big exhaust and the carb.

being over kill for the 998 you have fitted, if you still have the original exhaust and inlet/exhaust manifold with the carb the engine was ment to run on, it make mean peopel could pick up a workign car and you get a better chance at sellign it :withstupid:

good luck with the sale of it though

Thanks, possibly but it ran fine for about 2 weeks so i think it may be a slipped push rod or cam follower as that happened before the engine was striped.

Wasn't trying to be detrimental to the post or anything. Just advising you may get more interest if you list it slightly lower. Unfortunately, you never get back what you spend on a car!

I get that you were trying to help, I didn't mean to be so rude but I would have appreciated a personal message.
