Hi,
New to the forum and to Mini... I actually have a 1967 Riley Elf....
One thing I noticed right away is that I dont have a radiator overflow tank.. little plastic thing to catch and refeed radiator...
Without it, any coolant loss is lost...
Has anybody fitted their classic mini with one? where can I get one that will fit... I saw one on ebay that was like 6"x6"x6"... and that is even too big.
thanks for help.

I made one for my mini, I used a coke bottle with a hole drilled in the cap to take the overflow pipe, worked well, the coolant level never went down.

Got one fitted - pillaged from an austin 1100 - takes the std rad pressure cap and a blank cap now seals the rad....

The Innocenti Mini-Cooper 1300 had one as standard, but they are impossible to find now. I've been seeking one for over 12 months.

As did all the late 1275s from the Cooper LE onwards. If you are going to convert to having one, of either expansion or overflow type because both have been described in this thread and they are different, you need to make sure you swap the existing rad cap for the correct type or it won't work. No real need to fit one at all though, it only overflows once unless it's broken.
