what the hell does it do?

there is a switch on my dash board just above the heater next to the light switch and i have no idea what it does? it is red with a little picture of a brake pedal or something and when i push it it lights up but it doesnt stay on.

does any one have any idea what it does?

the little red light lights up if the brake flued gets realy low

the switch is for testing the red light :smartass:

Do you know what fuse the switch runs on?

Right,

The lamp should normally be extinguished.

The lamp should come on when you press the switch.

The lamp should come on when you lift the brake fluid cap (unless you have an early master cylinder) or press the rubber bung in the top of the cap if you have one.

If the lamp comes on when you press the brake pedal, your fluid is low.

If the lamp comes on when you are driving, STOP IMMEDIATELY, you have lost your brakes.

Simple.

Crocstarr, fix that it's MOT-able (but they never test it) and rather important.
