not all fine furniture is made with veneer, depends completely what it is/how much the wood has been allowed to 'move' before using and how good the furniture maker was.
Yes true enough, but E-Tizzle's description of veneering is still rather disparaging of a skilled and delicate trade.
yeah true, but i did a furniture course for three years, there was about 30 in my year, 20 the next then 10 in the final year.
i think its mainly because people dont spend money an proper furniture. its all "throw away" stuff, ikea, etc. yes there are people that do ask for special pieces, the majority dont.
its sad but as long as enough young guns learn the skills, and trees are planted, it will never die
