So like many of us we have fibre glassed and body filled the scuttle panel for a quick and fast fix from bubbled out and rusted body work (i know silly thing to do)...
Now to get to my point. once you have mastered the art of shaping the filler with sandpaper to the scuttle pattern you fit the wings weld them to the body (ie not scuttle because its filled up so no weld points :D ) and paint to what ever colour you like.

After a good little run you notice cracks in the wing to scuttle edging (bummer). I have been looking for a fix to this for ages now and found one which works a treat.. It is silicone, but a super strong silicone which will bond metal as well as keeping its flexability, it cannot be picked off unless by force, oh and also it is over paintable with waterbased, primer, aerosol, 2k paint etc etc.

I have recently used it on my rebuild and it has not let me down yet and keeps the thing waterproof

here is my pic of one wing. I left it black as my colour scheme is red and black:

Looks like Sikaflex, Tigerseal or some other Polyurethane based glue, not technicaly silicone. Tigerseal & Sikaflex are the best Polyurethane based glues and are used by many car manufactures to attached sideskirts and spoliers etc. I personaly fill all body joints with Polyurethane based glue as is water tight, paintable and flexable without the paint cracking.

Cool tip, whats the silicone? My fronts a riveted fibreglass one and I keep having to touch up cracks in the paint of the wing - scuttle join, be nice if I didnt have to :D

Also, where did you get the black trim over the seam thats visiable there? My themes black and white and the metal seam dosnt fit properly over the wing - a panel seam now tha the wings fibreglass, and looks a bit naff - this looks like an ideal soloution

The seams are carbon fibre which like in with my theme.. got a set of 4 on ebay for like £3.45 or something about £5 inc postage then basically carbon fibred a duplicate copy. Ill go have a look in the shed i think i have a set of gloss black, one might need a little fibreglass attention at the bottom..
