Eventually will be sticking a turbo lump in the mini but for now may have to settle for a 1275, could someone measure there carb box (is it the same for a turbo' car?) so i can fit one before i get the car sprayed. I know a few people use battery box's, is it just a case of fitting it in the center of the bulkhead or is it off set to the side?

Errrm, you don't have to modify the bulkhead unless you are fitting a Webber or a Turbo. There's no such thing as a 'carb box' and a Webber box is very different from a turbo box. Yes you can use a battery box as a Webber box if you like, bu the turbo box is not the same thing and will have to be a bespoke turbo box. Just 'because you fit a 1275 you don't need to modify anything.

I understand i don't need one for the 1275, but i will need some sort of box for the turbo thats the measurements i'm after, i would like to fit it now before get the car sprayed both inside and out.

yeah i think the turbo box is ina slightly different position to a webber box. Not sure exactly where though.
Look in the turbo section as there will be a few links to sites on how to do it etc.

Its a STRUCTURAL box that keeps the rigidity in the body shell, needs to be made of steel and welded all the way round. Are you realy that short of 30 quid to buy one ready made, all the work has been done for you, just cut and shut.

True its something to consider, i don't mind buying things but don't see the point when i could make it myself... for nothing, theres no reason why rivits can't be as strong as a weld if the right rivits are used.
