Hello all,

I would like to make everyone in the North aware of this event 'North Yorkshire Mini Adventure 2011'.

This event takes place on the 24th - 26th June (across a weekend) in the North Yorkshire Moors.

It is my favorite event to attend in my mini calender as its a driving event not just a show. Over the weekend, theres entertainment, mini clubs, prizes, a treasure hunt across the whole north yorkshire moors, using your mini and a set of clues, a run on the sunday with a convoy of approx 100 minis.

You get to see the best of the north yorkshire moors, not just the main road to scarbrough, im talking single track moorland roads, through villages and farms, past a couple of country pubs :) and visiting the best sites the moors has to offer.

The sunday run is normally approx 100 minis driving a route through the moors at your own pace, meeting at set locations for photo graphs and to let the public see your minis.

The price is £18 entry fee, which includes Rally plate, window sticker, 1 tshirt, treasure hunt and sunday run route. (This is per car, not per person.)
Camping is £12.50 per night per pitch. So 1 tent = 12.50 per night, 2 tents is 25.00 per night etc. (price is per pitch, not per person)

The event is held at

The Vale of Pickering Caravan Park
Carr House Farm
Allerston
Pickering
YO18 7PQ

I love this event, everyone as a good time, because its camping or caravan we all get to mingle on the night time and help each other out with car problems, advise, parts and tools.

The booking form (pdf) can be found here >>> LINK <<<

The closing date on booking form is 20th May, this may be extended, but please get your entries in quickly.

I would love a big outing for the TMF northern region, it would be a perfect opportunity for us northerns to get together as we dont get many mini shows or events in this regional area.

If you need any help booking, details etc, let me know and ill speak to the organisers direct for you.

I had an excellent weekend, great weather for the weekend too.

Totally sunburnt, red face and driving arm lol.

Anyone in the region who didnt attend missed a great weekend, it was all good crack and some excellent roads to be driving around in your mini.

Couple of problems but nothing that stopped us, well for long anyway........friends mk1 mini got locked in gear coming through malton but was fixed within the hour and we were on the move again. Had to adjust the idle up on the car i drove to stop it cutting out at junctions and one of us overheated, but soon fixed by removing the shield from the grill which is used in winter to make car warm up quicker.

Anyone who missed it, theres a similar run by the same organisers later this year or book up for next year.

now to find some after sun cream for the redness.
