I want to strip and spray my mini so ive picked out a compressor and some other bit's on machine mart.I want to know if everything ive picked is upto the job and will all work together so if you could take a quick look for me id appreciate it :)

Airmaster Tiger 14/60 Air Compressor - £299.98
http://www.machinema...-air-compressor

Clarke SB3 Gritblast Gun - £20.39
http://www.machinema...3-gritblast-gun

Clarke HVLP Spray Gun - AP15 - £33.59
http://www.machinema...-hvlp-spray-gun

Clarke CAR9PC 9m Retractable Air Hose Reel - £39.59
http://www.machinema...r-hose-reel-car

Clarke 20kg 60-80 Grit Aluminium Oxide Powder - £35.98
http://www.machinema...um-oxide-powder

Not sure what filter to buy but am i right in saying that i need one with auto drain and it's best to use 2 of them for spraying?

Would 2 of these do?

Or would these be better?

Cheer's in advance ;)

yeah air master are brill im still running a 20 year old air master which my dad bought replaced the oil the other week still runs sweet as a nut. although on the limited knowledge i have of compressors if you have a bigger tank youl be able to use tools for longer without them slowing so i would go for as bigger tank that you can afford.

Cheer's for the reply ;)

Im not really fussed about air tool's and i have very limited space so as long as it will strip and spray that's fine :)

the compressor is fine for home use mate. its big enough to spray a mini. just be careful of the the gun u piked out, because the nozzle size looks like its 2.2. and really for applying basecoat and lacquer for your mini a clarke gravity gun with 1.4 nozzle would be a better option. it will lay the paint on better with 1.4 nozzle. they should be roughly the same price.

BlueMini1 : where about have you got you filter? The guy at the shop said it's fine to put it direct onto the compressor but ive read it's best to have it as close to the gun as you can get it?

May be a bit late but those grit blasters are only really good for small jobs, and the grit goes everywhere and runs out very fast.

Ideally as well if possible have the compressor in a seperate shed from where you work, thats only got a small tank it will spend a lot of time with the motor running.

Any reason you listed the retractable hose, its only 9 meters which sounds a lot but if spraying the car you may wish it was longer when your wandering round spraying.

A guy on here did his mini with 20kg which is what i bought so i hope i have enough, even if i only do the hard to get to place's ill be happy :)

I ended up getting a coil flexi hose as i didn't have enough for the wall mounted one,it only need's to reach a little bit longer than a mini so it doesn't need to be long.

Ive not got time to try it tonight but ive got about 5 hour's to have a play tomorrow :D

After spending a few hour's in the garage i couldn't agree more...lol.I think my compressor is on it's limit's with this gun as i have to dab the trigger to keep it at 8bar otherwise it doesn't strip so well.On a plus note it is doing what i want it to just not a quickly as id like.

ive got mine as it comes out of the compressor but the air hose is only 5m long also i replaced the air tap as it has a small bore about 4mm and this restricts the air flow
