Afer atopic i raised a while ago i got insterested in the idea of having two 6.5" subs in the kick board. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. Any advise on how they perform and which ones to dodge or go for. Thanks for any replies.
Kick board ? Which bit do you mean?

Underseat speaker board?
That's what I'm guessing but the 6.5" subwoofer is throwing me.
Most discussions regrading installing sub under the rear seat I've seen talk about 8" or the 6x9 subs.
See what OP says.
Edit: oh those are 6.5" subs, thats a very nice install I've just found the guys thread.
I'd love the hear that system and see how well it drops.

Yeh, i think the height of speaker board is around 7" so the 6.5" are a good choice.
I'd love to hear it too!

Going back to the original post/questions.
This sort of install will work to a point.
Subs of this size simply can not drop the the low frequencies, unless you use a very clever box design (snail shell/transmission line).
But with a very solid enclosure you will get nice loud and very well controlled sub bass. but make that enclosure right and make it dead.
As for kit, I'm a firm believer that any car audio (within reason!) can sound OK to Good, IF its installed well and with attention to detail.
Be weary of anyone that tells you, you HAVE to buy this or that make. The bottom line is I've heard/judged so many systems that have top line kit but have been installed badly or just so it 'Looks' good, that sound crap. And then a guys comes a long with budget type kit, that has been installed with logic, effort. time and the most important thing of all attention to detail and its sounds top class.
The JL's (http://www.caraudiod...udio-6w3v3.html) will be great IF the install is Great...
Hertz also make a higher end 6.5" subwoofer, Hertz ML 1600
And DLS even do a Kit!
Reference RW6 (http://caraudiosecur...ts_id/9960.html)
and Kicker do the, CVT654
There are also a few 6x9 and 7x9 size subs out there, these could drop a little lower than 6.5"
Genesis Subwoofer P69
Tang Band (sound crap... but are really good make) make a couple of 6x9 models and they make a 6.5"

so an enclosure is a sort of box that makes the sub sound better? sort of...
would i be able to make an enclosure that would fit under the rear seats? and if so what sort of enclosure should i use?
and i am thinking of putting an amp with it. Im not exactly sure what i should get. i will be use the amp to power component speakers aswell so it will need to be 3 or 4 channel i think. it also needs to give 100 watts to each channel at 4ohmes or something like that. Any advise or recamendatoins on the amp would also be nice and if im completly wrong about what i think i need tell me

Thnx again
A simple Seal box using the basic shape thats already there. Use some alloy angle on the floor and some on the underside of the rear seat and and MDF cut out. And lots of sound deadening. Think of an amount to sound deadening...
No more than that, think of more...
Bit more..
Thats it, that much
