right guys i fitted my fuel tank back into my 1991 neon and im not happy because i did it up nice and tight think of safety and have now realised its pushed the bodywork out slightly just above the light so denting it out its not that bad but annoying is this normal have i overtightend or should there be something stopping it doing this thanks ross

it just needs to be tight enough to hold the tank, you've more than likely over tightened it

Just making sure, you have not put the bolt from the strap through the hole in the tank itself? as doing that makes the tank sit in the wrong place.

ahh feel really stupid now i did do that so te bolt doesnt go through the tank at all thanks for the help just me being a numpty
