Hi
Im just wondering if anyone knows where to get a copy of the Aston Martin ECU (Emotion control unit) or something similar to start a car. Would love to find even a copy of the style where you insert the key into the button.

Thanks for taking your time to read this
Andy

I’m not aware of anything ‘off the self'.

To fabricate something you’re looking at a lot of work, both the look and the technical.

From a technical point of few you could you a RFID tag and a reader that then fires in to a relay then to the ignition.

Or maybe use one of the remote engine start kits. Pull apart a key fob, and put the electronic guts in a plastic block, that when you push it in a holder it in turn pushes the starter button somehow.

Or if you don’t mind using a key as well (first) just make up and block and holder that pushes a engine start button..?

Hard work but it would be trick

These places will be able to make you a dumb 'key' with a logo inside.

This last place have done stuff for cars in the past so might be the ones to start with...

Be prepared for £££ though!

Hmm,

I've thought about doind something similar but I'd just have a push button and still use the main ignition key for the steering lock.

My thoughts were to make some sort of mold and then use that clear resin stuff for paperweights for the plastic. or try and get someone to machine some thick perspex.

We did a job at work with machined and polished perspex. The logo started as a vinyl decal, which was then changed to a silkscreened logo. Then an LED was used for backlighting.

Having a mini logo lasered in would be good!

I was thinking of just hagking up a switch or make some sort of tube carrier so it looks pretty at the front, and then a micro switch behind to operate a relay.

First I need to get the car going though!

I've been thinking about my design & if i include to much electronics Im not sure i would be able to manage it. However i have thought up an idea which includes a key..
Sorry about low quality of design.

I have worked out how to make this work and even light up, but its a bit hard to get down on paper. lol

I wish i had the time as i think i could make half a dozen of these a sell them on.

Andy if you like i could call you... what the sort of time frame you are looking at.

as if its a few months (not weeks) i might be able to sort something out for you.

Well the time frames actually huge really because my Mini is current a project and i don't plan on doing my test untill novemberish as i have a moped until then.
How much would you think you would price it at if you were to sell them?

Edit: missed the phone bit. I actually try and avoid phonecalls just cause I'm not confident so dislike them but if it's necessary I will
