hello people,

well El Gordo (my mini) is running nicly but seems to still be using alot of fuel. i did write it down so i'll have to post that tommrow but anyway, the float chamber on a carb...........should it wiggle. i mean mine moves a fair bit which i think is bad. should it move and if not what could have gone wrong to make it move.

thanks people!

You definitely sure its a wobble? A wobble is officially difined as a deviance of +/- 2 degrees. A wiggle is +/- 4 degrees and a rock is upto +/- 10 degrees! Found that out today!

It should move a bit if you try to force it, but not on its own. It's rubber isolated from the carb body to stop it vibrating.

none of mine are? They're all just bolted directly to the body of the carb, with only a small metal washer between them - and that's only to dictate the angle of the float bowl

Behind the cams where the throttle+choke cables attatch, should be a 1/2" bolt. Try tightening that up to see if that solves it

It should not wobble or wiggle - tighten it ! But Minis DO use lots of fuel relative to modern cars.
