My mate gave me a cd head unit last night.

I have the black adapter thing that goes around the front of it, and nothing else! there's a lot of wires hanging out the back... apparently i need some of those block connector things? I'm off to halfords, what else do I need?

Thanks!

Did your mini have a tape-player/radio before? If so it's easy as pie. If not then do what miniboo said.

My head-unit fits in there! But with my 3-point harness seatbelts I can't reach the volume controls, so I have to let it play the whole cd until the end of my journey! :turn: I'll be moving it into a centre console soon so I can reach!

It should fit, what you need to do is go to halfords and get a "rover - ISO" connector, and a "ISO - alpine(or whoever its made by)" connector. These should plug straight in and away you go!

My wires were a bit confusing so I re-wired the whole thing with shiney new ones, but for now I'd say just use the ISO connectors and you'll be laughing!

By the way, replace "rover" with whoever your mini is made by, and replace "alpine" with whoever your head unit is made by.
