I used a product called Sard Wonder Soap, the 'secret' ingredient of which is, I believe, eucalyptus oil. It removed stains and even a biro mark. Unfortunately, I don't think it's easily obtainable in the UK. A possible substitute might be a Vanish Stain Remover soap bar, but check the label first.

The fabric is quite delicate, so you don't want to use anything that requires scrubbing or contains bleach. I just made a lather with the soap on a wet sponge and wiped back and forth, then used another wet sponge to wipe off the residue, followed by a wipe over with a dry cloth.

Baby wipes are amazing, I use huggies pure for cleaning everything !
Traps Dirt and doesn't soak the fabric.

I cleaned mine with an AG interior shampoo. Sprayed on, light brush over, and hoovered off. Came up great :D

I used this too but it doesnt remove a glue residue? I would like to remove the glue residue which has soaked through does anyone have any ideas on this?

Also have a grey headlining which is in better nick than the white so may fit this instead. Does white look better than grey? I am struggling to imagine this in my head! as have never really looked at headlining before much...

p.s AG int shampoo worked a treat on mould and condenstaion markings. Tried baby wipes but required more force although very cheap from asda with aloe vera :)

I can't suggest anything for glue marks. However, I have a Grey headlining in my car and and prefer it over the White in my old. Easier to keep looking nice!
