i'm keeping my standard steel wheels (4.52 wide) with mini25 hub caps
but my tyres are a litte worn, ok very but still legal
I've tryed all the decent trye places in Mk and not one does the standard tyres
for my mini (145/70/12's) without having to order them in
which none of them seamed keen on
So im wondering if i could fit, say
165/60 R12 without to many probs
which would all so allow me to fit some decent rubber and not some buget s**t
I know the speedo will be out but not by Much, right?
Thanks,

There is so much difference in grip between 145's and 165's, I really wouldn't bother with 145's.

the only thing i had to do was fit some very thin spacers on the back because the tyre was very near the shocks

Well the sime monzas that are on at the mo are complete s**t round roundabouts
And they seam to be wearing quickly
But evenly so i know there's not a prob with my mini

The speedo will hardly be effected at all, if you compare the rolling circumference of the two tyres, it is bugger all really!
Size / Tyre height / Total height / Circumference / Difference
145/70 R12 / 203mm / 507.8mm / 1.60m / 100%
165/60 R12 / 198mm / 502.8mm / 1.58m / 99%
about the same then
