Hello everybody,

I thought I'd say that I showed my college project presentation today and I think it went well. We were told to dress appropriately for this event today so I thought it was my duty to turn up in one of many 1969 Italian Job t-shirts I own :) .

My tutor for the subject didn't seem to agree with most of my ideas at the start of September mainly because they were all Mini related e.g. Design a 5 bearing block, design a new wheel style and improve current supercharger kits. He let me get on with my project and when it came to today, he sat confused about my chosen topic but he did try to understand and said that I have covered all I needed to.

I have actually been keeping it unknown what I have been doing for my project since September 2010 and here it is (Sorry for dodgy colours, computer is disagreeing with me :) )

It is a Improved / Blow Through Supercharger Kit for the A-Series and I set myself the challenge at the start of my course in late 2009 to improve these current kits such as Jonspeed and V-Max after I had seen one pouring petrol out of the air filter :X . The whole criteria I had to meet was it had to improve on a current product / be a new idea and also be marketable.

Unfortunately, I did get beaten to it and Slark have made their own kit but it has been a good learning experience into all of the maths and theory aswell as having an excuse to look at Mini's every week during class :) . But here are some of my initial concept drawings from about November 2010 so I have significantly changed my ideas since then.

and this is what I was trying to improve on:

and this is my first design sketch:

I would liked to have built a prototype but it would have been a bit too pricey and inpractical to start an engine up in one of the classrooms :) so when I finally do get my Clubby back on the road, I would have done all of my design work and saved myself some time ready for me to go and test it!

Enjoy!
