A weber DCOE 40, on a 998? Don't think it would suit it mate! But it depends what inlet you go for, swan neck or straight neck. a swan neck will allow you to install it without bulkhead adjustments.

Have seen a few small bores with weber 40's, but they're heavily modified. Most of the time overbored with lumpy cams. A swan neck manifold will allow fitment without cutting anything, as already stated.

Its a bit like you drinking from the fire hose..... far too much to drink and no where to put it all.....

Ok a carburettor is designed to supply enough fuel / air mixture for your engine, if th ecarburettor can supply enough for 150bhp and your engine will only ever get to 80bhp then fitting it will almost always be a waste..... much better to fit a carburretor that is better suited to your requirements.

So what is your engine spec ? bore size alone is not enough information to make a good assement..

I am a member from the states and we have a great company who ships world wide and they know everything there is about weber carbs of all types and they just sent me a 40 dcoe chocked and jetted for my 998 my setup is pretty basic stock bore but works head and true 1.3 roller rockers and recurved 45d distr. with pertronix ignitor running the maniflow lcb and race exhaust. The kit includes a modified swan type intake and all brackets for it and the soft mount kit all for only 550.00 usd.
