Ive been offered some 7" disc brake assembly, as im running on drums alround, and still want to maintain a 10" wheel.

Do you recomend them? and if so what mods can i do to them to make them a good set of brakes without braking the bank? (excuse the pun) e.g EBC green stuff pads?

Stick with drums. You'll get far more effective braking with drums. The stopping power of 7" discs is less effective than drums of 7.5" discs.

Better than single leading shoe drums..

On a par with twin leading, but you don't have to adjust brakes

Worse than 7.5's or 8.4's

I agree with Guessworks, if you have twin leading shoe drums then stick with those and keep them adjusted. If you have single leading shoe drums then swap. If you do use these however don't think that it'll be easy to swap to bigger discs later as almost none of the parts are compatible with the later disc setups, most of the parts used on the system are from the drum setup. Only the hub-upright can be used.

Twin leading shoes have two pistons in the brake drum (so it pushes both sides of the shoe), and can be identified by a pipe going from the bottom of the back plate to the top.
