Hi guys,

I remember reading a thread on seats before and in particular, saw a guy who had put some seats into the back of his mini from an alfa GTV.

I myself have now purchased a set but cant find the thread anymore.

Does anybody know who he was or where the thread is so I can look at what minor adjustments I need to do.

Fitted MG TF half lether fronts and Alfa GTV leather rears ...The GTV's fit really well, the MG TF's just made brackets to fit the original Mini seat fixings.....They tip forward same as original seats, also backs tilt forward by turing the knob..Plenty of room to get in the back

how hard are they to fit? if they fold forward with the pull of a knob, they sound very good for estate rear seats

Their very similar in shape and size to mini rear seats. Come as two separate parts, the seat and the back. Ill post some pics of mine when i get em in proper. Got the front seats from Alfa gtv too. Full leather. look sweeeeeet.

i saw the mounts yesterday.......no pictures but i'll try and describe them. they are 4 pieces of steel (one for each side of each seat) bent at 90 degrees and have 2 holes drilled in them so you can sit them on the crossmember and use the original captive nuts that the mini brackets use (front of the crossmember). then a piece of flat bar is welded to the top of these pieces, the flat bar has a thread cut into it so the seats can be bolted on to the bracket.

Those rears are actually from a Honda prelude, I have a set to put in my mini when I get to the interior, I test fitted the lower squab and its a very good fit, the gaps for the seat belts even work.

Recently just bought some Alfa Romeo GTV rear bucket style seats of eBay for 99p. Fitted them today and they went in almost perfectly. 

1. Removed Drivers Seat (for space), parcel shelf and foot plate (the thing under the seats)

2. The bottom part of the seat had a fixing mount which caught on my speakers under the seat so i bent it back, this also worked to keep it in place more as it was bent round the metal under the bench.

3. Slotted the back piece into the bottom piece and secured it with the original seat screws on the parcel shelf. I did however just have to put some wood behind the brackets on the Alfa seats for the screw to go into as seen on the picture above.

4. put the parcel shelf back on and foot plate under the seat back into place.

 

as you can see it has a console in the middle that leaves a gap bait but thats nothing a bit of wood/card wrapped in vinyl or felt can't fix, same thing on the parcel shelf where theres gaps at the front.

Those rear seats really do look good! Will have to keep a look out on the fleabay and see if I can snatch up a cheap pair!

Instead of using three pieces of metal you can use 100mm ally angle to do it all in one.
