I have been wondering ever since i got my engine if its an MG metro one, im pretty sure its not. but just curious really!
i have put the engine number into Guess-Works engine code thingy.. :s
the info it comes up with is the following:
Source Vehicle : Metro
Engine type & CC : A+ 1275 cc Transverse mounted
Fueling :
Engine features : Lucas 16AC alternator with -ve Earth
Mechanical petrol pump
Gearbox features : Std. Ratio Rod Change gearbox with Pot Joints
3.44:1 final drive
doesnt say if its normal metro of MG though, is there any other way of telling? is there any external differences between the two?
anyway, my engine number is 12H907AA 101715

hi
12H907 was one of the first A+ 1275's fitted to the metro, 1.3L
around 1982 , about 60hp
leaded head unless the head has been converted.
if you are after a mg metro then look for 12H996A

No not after anything, just out of interest really. It's now a 1330, so it's completely irrelevant! Lol
