O.k I know this is a long shot with all the differant tastes in music and all but I'm struggling to pick a decent song for my wedding later this year.

I have a few options but the missus is not havin any of them and I'm not going to be seen dead dancing to one of her choices as she's a take that/westlife fan and I'm certainly no fan of their's or any other cheesy hit makers.

The best we've come up with together so far is chasing cars by snowpatrol which I'd settle for if I have to but does anyone on here have any suggestions, I've searched the google to death and keep getting top 20 wedding song charts with the usual stuff. I cant think of a better way to get ideas than aload of people of all generations and tastes on here so hit us with your choices.

Here's some of my considerations so far in no order

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

John Denver-Annie

Embrace-Gravity (she tells me the words are'nt good for a wedding)

George Benson-the greatest love of all

Coldplay-the scientist

Jim Croce-Time in a Bottle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr-LzfEuuac&feature=fvst (scene in lift from hangover 2)

Sarah McLachlan-Angel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx4RsCfL_fA

Sarah McLachlan- Possession http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z-cg5JOrOs
(yes this is also her believe it or not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTLJjoW867g great voice)

As you can see theirs a wide variation but mainly liking piano/guitar acoustic type songs and nothing in the mainstream cheese bracket like mariah, celine etc. I let Benson sneak in because I was brought up listening to this as mother always played it.

Not looking for anything thats been played to death on the X-factor, or played out in the charts such as Adele (though I do think she's good).

Any great songs covered acoustically that you can think of for instance is what I'm after, I heard a guy in a pub just last week do an acoustic version of Mr Brightside and it was really good.

there seems to be a modern trend of learning the dance to a song, pretending your going to do a slow romantic number, then "throwing some shapes".

i recommend solider boi.
