Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
I'm in the proces of fitting a Maniflow Cat Back Side Exit exhaust just now. I just put the Cat back on and then when i went to attach the section which goes between the back box and the cat (It has a little silencer in it) i found that i can't get the cat flange and the flange on the new part to sit flush. As far as i can see this is because on the new bit of the exhaust the flange/collar can move about, but there is a bit that sticks out, effectively going between the cat flange and the collar on the new bit. I have to say i'm stuck as to what i could do or if i'm doing something completely obviously wrong? I can take pictures to explain it easier, but in essence the flanges wont sit flush. As far as i'm aware the holes at each end of the cat are the same size? I didnt actually check, but thats the only explanation i can think of that would solve the problem is i've bolted the cat on the wrong way and theres a larger hole at the end nearer the engine which would allow this little bit to sit in and sit flush. I hope this makes sense!
Thanks again for answering another silly question.
Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?

Assuming I fitted mine correctly, the 'ball' end part of the back box just sits on the hole in the cat, the two flanges don't make contact. You need some longer bolts then, I think I used 65mm, to bolt it up. My Minispares exhaust bolts were far too short. I'd imagine theres an arrow or similar on the cat to indicate its orientation

Ah okay, thanks very much bcjames. I did manage to find bolts long enough i think, just wasnt sure if it was sitting right as i've never had an exhaust like that. No exhaust gases leak?
Cheers!

I put some exhaust sealant on the ball and then stuck it on. Doesn't seem to have leaked at all in the two months since. I'm not sure if it would be okay without.
